Health & Safety

Updated July 5, 2023

The 65th ENC is planned as an in-person conference. By registering for the conference participants acknowledge that COVID-19 is an infectious virus that spreads easily through person-to-person contact and may cause serious illness to individuals who are unvaccinated and/or have certain medical risk factors.

Participants understand attending ENC 2024 may increase the risk of contracting COVID-19. Participants agree to follow all public health and safety guidelines to attend the 65th ENC and freely and voluntarily assume the risk of COVID-19 exposure and infection.

What is expected of attendees?

In light of events surrounding the COVID-19, ENC reminds you of the risks incident to participating in the 65th ENC. Even with every reasonable precaution to keep you safe as outlined for you by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC), ENC cannot fully eliminate all risks of harm to attendees or guarantee their safety, especially from risks posed by COVID-19 or its variant strains. You are ultimately responsible for your own safety.

What can attendees expect from ENC?

To promote the safety of everyone at the conference, ENC will follow the guidance and requirements of the CDC, State of California, California Department of Health (CDPH), and other local regulations regarding COVID safety practices.

Will I be required to wear a face mask when attending meetings and events at the 65th ENC?

ENC recommends that all conference attendees, vendors, and ENC Staff wear a face mask while indoors at any ENC events or meetings. A recommended “mask” is one that is made of at least 2 layers of breathable fabric or hospital grade material; fully covers the nose, nostrils, and mouth; and fits firmly under the chin, and snugly, but comfortably against the side of the face.

What if I experience COVID-19 related symptoms at the conference?

If you have COVID-19 related symptoms, you should return to your guest room or hotel, and seek medical attention, if needed. ENC will have a list of local medical facilities available at the registration desk.

Will vaccinations be required to attend the 65th ENC?

No, vaccinations will not be required to attend the conference.

We do, however, strongly encourage attendees to take their health and well-being (and that of their fellow attendees) seriously when attending the conference. We encourage you to follow all the appropriate health-related guidance for you as an individual. If you are experiencing any COVID-19, flu-like, or other viral symptoms or are feeling sick, please do not attend an ENC event and take advantage of the oral session recordings accessible via the mobile app and online planner.

What if I am unable to travel to or attend the 65th ENC due to COVID-19?

Contact us at enc@enc-conference.org. We are able to refund your registration fees if you are unable to attend due to COVID-19.

We reserve the right to change this guidance at any point for any ENC event.
