The ENC Ritchey Travel Award is established to honor William M. Ritchey, who is Professor Emeritus of Chemistry and Macromolecular Science at Case Western Reserve University. William Ritchey founded the ENC in 1960. The award is fully funded with contributions from Professor Ritchey’s former students. The areas of the Award are to reflect Prof. Ritchey’s broad interests in the development and application of NMR to chemical and material sciences.
The amount of the award is $1,000 to be used for travel to the ENC. Conference attendance is required. The award will not granted to someone who is not able to attend..
The Award is open to graduate students who are within the final year of a PhD program. The research and abstract of the applicants should show work with significant involvement in the development and applications of advanced NMR techniques or methods.
To apply, please check the appropriate box when an abstract is submitted. Only one abstract per applicant may be used for purposes of the application. The applicant must be the presenting author on the abstract. This abstract will be the primary focus of evaluation for the award. In addition to the abstract, applicants must submit by email (enc@enc-conference.org) the following:
- A brief (not to exceed one page) statement of current research focus and career goals;
- Two letters of support.
The deadline for receipt of all materials is January 13. Late submissions cannot be considered. Decision will be made by mid February.
